Part 1 of a new Overarcing Theory of Almost Everything for EverymanHYBRID

SECTION 1: CONNECTING THE PAST TO THE PRESENT

Once upon a time many years ago there were four children named Vincent, Jeffery, Stephanie and Evan. All troubled, clearly one of the most was Evan who for the most part preferred to be called 'HABIT' which he claimed was a nickname from his mother. HABIT had the stereotypical serial killer beginning of torturing and killing small furry animals, namely rabbits. When their mutual doctor adopted them, he believed he was forming a normal happy family, finally.

At times it looked like he might be right. They laughed and joked with one another... developed friendships and rivalries among each other. But someone's past caught up with the family. All four of the children died, though one hung on longer than the others. There is some evidence suggesting that Slenderman effected them. Multiple times, a person referred to as 'The Man' hurt people around them.

There is definitely evidence suggesting they knew The Rake. Much like when EMH!Evan EMH!Jeff and Alex travel miles in just a few seconds crawling through the crawl area that The Rake had been inhabiting, these four kids from years ago traveled a long distance in a short amount of time, following someone they referred to as a 'he'. They entered a building without using a door, much like in the events of 'Taking It Back' though ironically, in Taking It Back, the building had indeed had its door broken down months ago by EMH!Jeff and EMH!Evan.

At some point, all four of these children died. For many years the good doctor had a long, fulfilling life helping people, including a child called Linnie, who he was determined to keep alive. There is some evidence that he failed that.

In the year 2002, about the time that the EMH cast have been around the age that the Mining Town Four were when the doctor would have adopted them, the Doctor who was once a celebrated physician is suddenly being framed for murder. Let's ignore that the doctor is quite old... it just doesn't match with what we know of his nature! Then 6 years ago in 2005, apparently the doctor started a riot in a bar and killed people. I submit to you that that's fucking impossible. He's pushing a really ripe old age by that point.

Who wouldn't be pushing a ripe old age by then? Well that's simple. EMH!Evan, EMH!Jeff, EMH!Vince, EMH!StephanieDamsel and of course the corpse we saw in Cops Checked, No Body which is widely believed to be a girl the EMH crew's age named Linnie.

I submit to you that these names are not a fucking coincidence... and if the possibility was there that they were ever, it went out the window when Jeff was lead to the documents baring their names.

The possibility exists in the realm of this story that the EMH crew and the dead body that was found are the reincarnations of the good Doctor's beloved children. But their past lives are effecting them more than they let on... or more, they're replaying themselves.

Up until Evan got his own computer, HABIT existed on the EMH Twitter as a hidden post, fighting with some unnamed entity that seemed to feel superior to HABIT and post opposite of it. They were arguing over a 'vessel' and HABIT mentions 'The Big Guy and Snoopy.” My favorite two thoughts on this last phrase is 1. Slenderman and The Rake, and 2. Vince and Jeff. However, looking at this most recent video in which Evan refers to Alex as 'The Big Guy' I wonder about Alex and Sparky. I still am not inclined to think it is the first one... because... well, read on.

I suggest that the vessel the two entities are arguing over isn't the EMH Twitter, but EMH!Evan. We see in the hidden clip part of RyanAndTheSevenTrialsOfHABIT that Evan is talking, angrily to thin air, in a manner very similar to these opening tweets.

Evan tells the empty chair across from him that 'you' whoever 'you' is, may have punked 'Evan' who he describes as a 'bitch' but this same 'you' won't get him, and if he wants blood he will take it. I'm saying here and now that what was happening there was that SAME argument as in the mystery tweets. HABIT, whatever he was in Fairmount!Evan is now in EMH!Evan. I think he was a split personality passed down in the reincarnation process.

So how does this connect to the past playing out again?

Well, the bags full of little animals in the forest, the videos being spammed to Vince, the talk of rabbits and blood, they're all signs of HABIT being on the loose once again. Only this time he has a stronger body than the one he had before. Evan has been doing many strange things. He was clearly stalking Jessa and Damsel in one of the videos taken before Jessa went missing. Once the two girls begin recording themselves, we clearly see him dart from behind them, screen right, across the screen and down the street, as if running away from the camera. And he's fast like Evan.

The laughing at all the blood and body filled bags is also strange and reminiscent of the stories of HABIT's antics.

Finally, my last point about Evan is that he and HABIT share something in common other than my theorized shared body. To the untrained eye they seem utterly crude... brass, idiotic. At the same time they clearly are anything but. Evan seems brass, quick to violence and at times might have a bit of an ego. Yet when he finds out that Alex is being attacked, he comes rushing to his aid ready to kick Jeff in the teeth, because he knows no one else can help Alex. When he thinks Damsel/Stephanie is being wrongly accused, he spouts off about it vehemently to the EMH youtube community. In this recent video, while he's nursing long cuts all up and down his knife arm, he gives more of a damn about Sparky and Alex than himself.

He's intelligent, insightful and to a degree, clearly gives a damn about people.

HABIT shares all but apparently the last aspect with Evan. Crude talks of violence, superiority, and yet I think he's trying to teach the world a lesson. Think really hard about the first challenge. HABIT tells them to dig a hole, bury something they find most important and then tell the camera who made them do it. I saw only one video from that first challenge, Alex's.

Alex watches Sparky dig a hole. He places a bright red shotgun shell into the dirt and carefully covers it. During this last part, I personally think I hear Alex crying, and when the video shifts to show his face, he looks like he may have been. (I'll hit on that in like a paragraph and a half.) When he opens his mouth, he says, 'HABIT made me do it.'

It's as if HABIT is trying to tell us that by nature, by habit if you will, we take the most important truths and bury them away from the world, from ourselves. It's very poignant. It makes me think that as fucked up as HABIT is... he's doing something important, whether good or evil I dunno. I personally think HABIT was formed by Fairmount!Evan to deal with Slenderman and may be surfacing in EMH!Evan for the same purpose, just he's pissed off at the Doctor and Alex right now.

To go back to the whole 'PAST PLAYING ITSELF OUT' we don't know how Jeff and Alex's family died. We never hear about foul play... but I believe looking at the past and at the video I described just above tells us all we need to know. Fairmount!Jeff's father killed his mother, his sister and then himself, and right before he does it, he tells Jeff, 'The Man made me do it.' He then shoots himself in the skull.

Now fast forward to our time... and our Jeff is without parents. His brother denies that they are dead, probably for the sake of his own sanity. But I think Alex knows they're dead deep down. Why would Alex hold a spent shotgun shell so close to his chest? It doesn't sound like pure coincidence to me, when looking at all the parallels.

Stephanie/Damsel found her family slaughtered hanging from a tree in a bag, something which sounds a lot like what happened to the small animals in the video where Evan first charges Slenderman. She took her family into the master bedroom and laid them out around her, clearly suffering mentally. She is told by someone she calls 'he' to go North. Which sounds a lot like Slenderman or 'the man' interfering in some way. (However... I have my own theories on that. Personally I think it may have been The Rake who killed them or... well, HABIT... in the then young EMH!Evan. We can't rule out the possibility... Evan is clearly mentally conflicted and prone toward violence. And like I said, that incident with him stalking her and Jessa is suspicious.) Slenderman wouldn't send her North. He'd tool with her. The Rake has never shown logical thought processes of its own. Maybe HABIT told her to go north, recognizing her for what she was. After all, Evan is now in close friendships with Vince and Jeff and Alex, so clearly something is bringing all of them together.

I'd love to know what brought the three of them together in the first place, how they met.

We don't know much about Vince at all. Fairmount!Vince was sexually molested by his caretaker who was later killed by someone Fairmount!Vince describes as 'The Man.' Though the implication exists that until Fairmount!Jeff mentioned 'The Man' himself, the Doctor might have believed Vince did it personally. But it was a very brutal murder. It didn't fit The Rake though and we don't have any solid proof that The Rake existed in the time of the Mining Town Four. But one way or another murders are beginning again and they seem to connect to the EMH equivalents.

The Doctor was last seen fleeing into Baldplate Park, the sight of numerous events within the EMH series including the two videos highly theorized to have been uploaded months before they were actually shot.

SECTION 2: WHAT IS TIME

In addition to multiple hidden clips and the morse code hidden videos, there are two videos that seem to have been uploaded months before they day they were on. In one of these videos that went up pre-shooting, it seems to be what happens after the events of Last Week/Taking It Back. After arriving in Baldplate park, with know explanation for how, Evan calls Vince to pick them up. That's where that video ends. In one of these two future videos, Evan, Alex and Jeff, in the clothes they would later be wearing in Last Week/Taking It Back are seen sitting under the large tree first featured in the long hiking video early on which is the first and last time we see Ryan.

So, months before the events of the video they CAN see and know of posting, a video that seems to show later that day was uploaded.

How does this happen, who did it?

Well my original theory before I thought of this was that the hidden videos were being uploaded by EMH!Evan under the control of Slenderman or HABIT. However... I now present an alternate theory.

The two leaked videos hold the key.

The video entitled Slenderman and the video entitled Welcome to the ARK.

I know most people aren't sure this is Canon.

But the editing on these videos was... carefully done. And I think the explanation for the hidden videos is within Welcome to the ARK. But if I'm gonna do this I'm gonna do this right.

The short video Slenderman shows what seems to be Vince and Evan hanging out in Evan's home. We see a scene eerily like the hidden clip in RyanAndTheSevenTrialsofHabit. Evan is horribly upset about being told to do horrible things to his friends and part of him wanting to. He is talking about it to an empty chair. Only this time he seems to be almost completely himself... the difference being that he is aware something is wrong with him, which has yet to happen in the series.

We hear whispers like those heard in Alex's room and other times when The Rake is known to be there. Evan then seems to thank the voice whispering to him, walk into his living room where Vince is again playing Xbox much like he does almost every time we see him at Evan's place. It's heavily implied that Evan makes one, maybe two stabs with his knife, and while damaged, Vince fights him off with very little effort. It's interesting to note Evan seems to be bleeding from the ears.

The next video is Welcome To The ARK and seems to be being shot by Evan at first. Jeff is watching early footage of Vince in the original fitness portion of the EMH storyline. He's looking for clues and judging by Evan's later statements about 'looking for clues that aren't there' and the battery on his computer dying, he's been doing it for a while. Vince is seemingly in pain, crouching in a dining room area or a smaller room near the living room. Here's where I connect the two videos. Evan is worried but sounds guilty too. He attempts to appease Vince and/or raise his spirits by asking Vince to help him turn on the camera light, as Vince is better with technology than him.

(There are signs in the videos that are CONFIRMED canon that Evan's supposed to be technophobic or... technotarded. But the actual reality of the situation disagrees. He gets the vids about Alex and handles them himself. Has no problem with the camera when it comes to burying his knife for HABIT, handles the camera multiple times, and while his wording is off, he obviously knows enough about USB drives and cell phones, and suddenly has bought a laptop. Dunno.)

Vince takes the camera, putting on a brave face and brings it around on Evan. Evan has used Jeff/Alex's purple duct tape to tape something over the side of his neck, it looks to be like an improvised bandage. Jeff has a similar bandage on his hand. If the events of Slenderman are connected to Welcome To The ARK, Vince's crouching may have been to cover him holding a similarly wrapped wound under his shirt. It would match up with the knifing from Slenderman.

Jeff gets frustrated as his laptop shuts off, battery out of power. He gets upset because 'The Doctor' was with them an hour ago and isn't now. The others aren't so sure. They remind him that it has been night for three days. We see a shot that seems to be out of a car window on a dark stormy night. It's apparent from comments made in the video that time seems to have stopped. This looks like Evan's place, but there are no human beings but those three and apparently The Doctor. If the sun won't rise, it means the world isn't turning. Wherever they are is outside of time.

Now, ignoring the worries about it being Canon or not (It's high quality and ties in too damned well to the plot to be a coincidence.) and ignore the nonsense of a 3 day long battery... what was Jeff up to online for all that time? Answer? Uploading the hidden videos, using his laptop to upload edited versions of the original videos with the hidden clips in them.

Until this scene comes to be in the main series timeline, the crew will NEVER be able to see these hidden videos. Whatever they might learn from them... especially forcing Evan to confront his strange actions in the early series... it will have to wait until this point comes.

Until then we can't be 100% sure these are canon, but I'm convinced enough to think about it. Look at Welcome To The Ark, look at the editing found in those videos, the only thing giving off any real color at all is the purple tape. Why bother to do that for a throwaway video? Even if we discount the two LEAKED videos, there are two videos on the EMH page that were definitely uploaded before they were shot. That means there is some time travel of some sort involved.

I will touch on Welcome To The ARK one last time, soon. It's part of the next segment.

The Rake and HABIT.

HABIT's rules stated not to get help from outside forces. Ryan went to do so and was killed by The Rake.

Later on The Rake begins attacking Alex. Why? I can't begin to guess, but I will say this: There was no Fairmount Alex that we know of. Maybe Alex is in the way of events playing out. If I put my theory that HABIT was originally created by Fairmount!Evan's mind to fight Slenderman... Alex is in the way of history playing out so that HABIT can have his big day.

The HABIT being Evan theory takes a small hit when one considers that in the most recent video One Step Forward Two Steps Back, Evan is brutally attacked by The Rake. But here's the problem with that. Evan was not the intended victim. It was Alex's dog being used as bait. Alex was supposed to wander in there and be killed. The Rake did not act normal in that video, it acted a lot like whatever is attacking the crew at the end of Welcome To The ARK. The noises are even similar. The phrase 'It's back' is also common between the two videos.

In this video HABIT's body is attacked by his monster a monster perfect for him because it draws so much blood. In Welcome To The ARK, I believe it happens again and because Evan is aware of HABIT and resisting HABIT. It's punishment. Cause Evan pain and kill his friends. It means that HABIT and The Rake can exist wherever and whenever they are.

Here's the bad part of that situation, look who is missing from that picture: Alex and Stephanie.

Are they in danger? Why isn't Stephanie around anymore in these videos.

SECTION 3: THE CONSEQUENCES OF HABIT

Slenderman is bad. Bad bad.

The Rake is bad. Bad bad.

HABIT is bad bad bad with a mission and a path. Following my past to present connections... I see two outcomes to all of this if HABIT takes too much control of Evan. HABIT will beat Slenderman and go on to do evil shit. HABIT will go batshit insane and kill Jeff, Vince, Stephanie and eventually Evan himself. Think about it. HABIT was violent back then, and one of the children survived longer than the others. If Fairmount!Evan/HABIT went insane and his control got away from him as it seems to be doing now, it's possible he could have killed the rest of the Mining Town Four and then either Fairmount!Evan commited suicide, or HABIT was so far out of control that however he was hurting people at the time was turned on him, something which happened in the last video through The Rake.

If HABIT can be beaten somehow, which it looks like EMH!Evan is going to try to do (IF we assume Slenderman and Welcome To The ARK are canon) then this cycle can be avoided and maybe Slenderman can be defeated by the EMH crew together.
SECTION 4: EVERYMAN and other Miracle and Morality Plays

We have cards in box 5 for all kinds of players in this whole scenario. HOWEVER, only the males of the people who share names with the Mining Town Four are given equivalents in EVERYMAN and other Miracle and Morality Plays. Which is significant because the card representing Stephanie is crossed out, and furthermore she is not seen in the Questionable Video/ Leaked Video, Welcome To The ARK.

  1. YOU ARE SO AWESOME. Seriously, all your theorys seem right! (Don't mean to seem like a creep, but I can't stop reading your blog :3)

Also! You said at some point you were working on a fanfiction for Marble Hornets, right? Is there a link I could get for that? :3

  2. I was working on an EMH fic. It's evolved a bit but still being written.
